The Short Film “Dans le noir” Won the Best Director Award

We are happy to share with you the first 8 festival selections of the short film “Dans le noir” by Mor Talla Ndione, including the Best Director Award which he won at the Butoni Fest Vol. III of Valencia in Spain.

The film tells the story of Amara, a survivor of a Mediterranean crossing, who finds refuge with Mouba, a disabled Senegalese dandy who lives by renting his identity documents. Mouba rents his residence permit to Amara, allowing him to work in France. However, Amara tries to escape when Mouba increasingly abuses his power.

With the composers Zéphyr Perrier and Cedric Lowis, the challenge was to create a sonic landscape to evoke a sense of escape and instability as well as to gradually create tension between these two characters.

Congratulations to the whole team!
